Provide Chest for Shelter to 10 Ukrainian Schools

We're excited to share the latest update on the ‘Chests for Shelters’ donation campaign. Smart Osvita continues to implement this highly important project with the support of our donors and partners.

Since our last report three months ago, we haven’t collected enough funds on the GlobalGiving platform to equip and send more chests to schools. However, we are focusing on involving funding from various sources to keep this crucial project running. Thus, with the support of the trustees of Mr. Edmond Nielsen's legacy and Childfund Deutschland, we've successfully equipped 25 bomb shelters with our Chests for schools across different regions of Ukraine. We're now in the process of preparing 35 more chests. You can watch a video about the chests funded by these donors here:

Currently, more than 1000 schools are on our waiting list. Once we collect enough funds for a new chest, we will equip it and send it to a next school asap.

In the new school year, more Ukrainian schools have resumed offline learning where possible. However, due to Russia's intensified air strikes, air raid alerts have become more frequent. Students must proceed to the school bomb shelters at least several times a week. Our goal is to ensure that more schools receive these essential resources, making bomb shelters a more comfortable and supportive environment for both students and teachers.

Smart Osvita is thrilled to provide an update on the ‘Chest for the Shelter to Ukrainian Schools’ campaign. Over the past three months, thanks to the support from the trustees of the legacy of Mr Edmond Nielsen, the Educo Foundation, and Childfund Deutschland, we have successfully equipped 34 chests for shelters for schools in affected regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipro oblasts. The Ukrainian logistics company Nova Poshta delivered the chests to the schools free of charge. As planned, each chest is packed with essential items such as blankets, board games, flashlights, anti-stress toys, colouring pages and other supplies to make bomb shelters cosier for students and teachers. Each chest is designed to support 100 children at a time. 

We are now in the process of preparing 72 more chests for distribution.
