Care for visually challenged to dream

By Ilakkiaarasi | Fundraising Executive

Like 'air', ' water', 'food' and 'shelter', vision is also an essential element for human beings to experience the world. The vision is "granted" and not "acquired" by anyone. How is a person born blind responsible for being so? It could have happened to us and to our dearest. Even a sighted could turn blind out of an accident or an illness. If you realize and understand this truth, reaching out and donating to the Visually Challenged is not an act of 'charity' rather it is our moral obligation and social responsibility.

“SHELTER” is a fundamental element for the living of every human. Indian Association for the Blind is taking at most care to provide the shelter to the visually challenged. The students, who are here in IAB, are from poor background. The family of the students here are not able to provide the best “Shelter” to their children. Therefore, IAB becomes a family for those children who are in need. It is the responsibility of the IAB and everyone to care the fellow human being to have a better sleep and rest.

The 300 students of IAB are from rural areas and from poor background. The basic needs like food and shelter are a dream for most of the students. Feeling of being poor will make these students sad, so IAB takes some extra care to make them feel comfortable. Every year, we provide them personal bedding to have a peaceful sleep. With the help of generous donors like you, IAB makes them to have a good sleep.

Imagination and Dream are the tools that are used by the Visually Challenged to see and observe the world. It is the duty of everyone to make them to see the world in imagination and dream. To make this happen, we should provide them a proper and tidy bed, pillows and bed sheets. God has given eyes for visually challenged. We are their eyes. IAB is a sanctuary where these beautiful birds have a best and lovable stay. You, the donors, help us to care for our Students.

This drive has helped us to raise the funds by $979 through 11 donations. We look forward to raising more for this cause. As always, we, along with GlobalGiving, will do our best in reaching out to generous donors across the Globe and will strive to bring happiness on the face of each of our beneficiaries.
