Daraja Academy for Exceptional Kenyan Girls

Seven years ago the dream of creating access to quality secondary education for Kenyan girls living in poverty was born. Thanks to thousands of Daraja Academy donors like you that dream has taken flight!

• 192 exceptional young women have entered the gates at Daraja Academy since we opened in 2009.
• 100% of our 2014 graduates received Exit Exam scores enabling them to attend university or college.
• 80% of our pioneer class of graduates is active in community service, 30% hold official leadership roles.
• Daraja ranks in top 10% of Kenya’s 1,200+ private secondary schools.
• 12,000+ people in our local area have been impacted by our students’ community service from AIDS education to environmental projects to teaching primary school students

What we do together --- touches on something deeper than chalkboards and textbooks. We are in the business of teaching girls with POWER and STRENGTH...to be critical thinkers, progressive leaders, and architects of their futures - to transform their communities and the world for generations to come.
