FAVL supports the local production of books in Houndé, Burkina Faso (called CMH books), through initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of writing and publishing within the community. This includes facilitating writing workshops and training sessions for aspiring authors, as well as providing support for the publication and distribution of locally-authored books. Additionally, FAVL collaborates with local illustrators to produce attractive books relevant to the community's needs and interests. By promoting local authorship and book production, FAVL aims to increase access to culturally relevant reading materials and promote literacy and education in the region. The focus of the majority of the books is on issues confronting women in local society. many of the authors are young women from the town of Hounde. Over the past few months, several hundred of these books have been distributed in libraries in Tuy province, Burkina Faso.
