Winona contacted Pathways by email in late February. She had been living in Sweden with her American husband and her dog Dakota. Her husband's abuse had become untolerable. When she told him she couldn't take it anymore and she wanted to go home, he threatened to kill Dakota if she left.
After dozens of email communications, Anna, a Pathways advocate, helped Winona arrange all the logistics to help her come home to the USA with Dakota. Anna would never leave her beloved Dakota behind.
Luckily, they got home just before the covid-19 restrictions began. Dakota is happy and safe with Winona at Winona's parents home. He has lots of room to run and play with their dog Pugsie.
Thank you for protecting pets from domestic violence! The Pathways Team!
