In Negros Occidental, there was no organization that offers specialized help for sexually abused girls. With 22 years of experience in running rehabilitation shelters in Panay island (Iloilo, Passi City), CAMELEON wants to duplicate its action by opening a new one in Negros in order to protect more victims. With about 30% of the girls beneficiaries of our In-house and After-care program coming from Negros, our extension in the province aims at two goals for 20 girls aged 5 to 17 years old:
-To offer shelter and rehabilitation support to victims of sexual abuse in Negros Occidental.
-To facilitate the work with the families of the beneficiaries and the monitoring of After-care program to ensure the reintegration of the girls.
Thanks to donations though GlobalGiving, 20 girls who have been victims of sexual abuse are now provided with the opportunity to go to school, participate in sports & circus, and receive medical/psychological care as well as legal assistance when they are determined to sue their perpetrators.
This report shows the progress of the work for the CAMELEON CENTER 3 and more specifically the HOME BUILDING.
