The Main House

The construction work of the 3rd CAMELEON Shelter on the island of Negros, in the Philippines, started in March 2018. The Shelter will house 20 girl victims of sexual violence, from 5 to 23 years of age.

The construction is moving along as planned and the Shelter will welcome its first beneficiaries in May 2019. An opening ceremony will take place in April 2019 before the arrival of the girls in May.

Here is a summary of the construction’s progress.

- The main house: between March and July 2018, work progressed well: the dining room, the entrance hall, the girls' dormitory, the director's room, the staff room and the therapy room have all been built. Almost everything is done, and it will be completely finished by the end of October!

 - The office and clinic: the building of the office and clinic began in June 2018. Since everything is going according to plan, it will end in March 2019.

 - The other buildings: construction of the Mariposa Hall, the laundry room, the guardian’s house, the car park and the access road will start in October 2018. It is planned to go on until March 2019.

We will keep you posted for more updates on our Shelter!
