The construction of the Negros CAMELEON Shelter in Negros Island is moving ahead according to plan.
The walls are already up, as can be seen in the following pictures, and construction is proceeding on schedule.
Laurence Ligier, Founder of CAMELEON, was on the construction site in May to supervise the building. She is now in France but she will be back in August to meet with the architect, the constructors and suppliers and to oversee the ongoing work.
Come spring 2019, twenty young girls will move into their new “home”, each of whom will have been referred to CAMELEON by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, each of them victims of sexual violence and in need of a safe place where they can begin the long and delicate process of rebuilding their broken lives.
CAMELEON will also follow up 20 other young girls belonging to the Negros after care program. All of this, thanks to the generosity of our patrons and sponsors.
You too can help!
Make a donation for the Negros Shelter. THANK YOU !
