Protect Lao Girls From Human Trafficking

Dear Supporters,

This year is already off to a wonderful start for SENGSAVANG. We are proud to report that our Social Enterprise (restaurant, beauty salon, tailor shop) has just opened its doors in February. It is an exciting time for our girls to prove to real customers what they learned during their vocational trainings. All proceeds from the Social Enterprise are directly invested in our project “Protect Lao girls from human trafficking”.

Because of your generosity and continued support, SENGSAVANG can provide different vocational trainings for the girls staying in our rehabilitation centre. At the moment, we offer in-house trainings in sewing and beauty, including basic business management training. Our cooks are trained in Vientiane at the famous training centre of LANITH (Lao National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality). Thus, customers of our new Social Enterprise can buy some tailor-made clothes, get a new haircut in our beauty salon or enjoy a Lao meal in our restaurant, prepared with organic fruits and vegetables from our in-shelter garden.

Education and job opportunities are our greatest weapon against trafficking in women. Skilled girls have higher chances of creating their own business, finding employment, and having the confidence to say NO to traffickers! Thanks to each and every donation we receive, we are able to offer our girls the opportunity to empower themselves and stay safe from human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
