Dear Friends,
Because of your generosity, Chimes Israel has been able to respond immediately to the urgent needs of children and adults with disabilities during one of the most difficult periods in Israel's history. Although the most recent wave of missile attacks has subsided, the security situation remains unpredictable. Families continue to live with uncertainty, knowing that hostilities could resume with little warning. For children and adults with disabilities, every disruption in routine increases the risk of developmental regression, emotional distress, and isolation.
Thanks to donor support, we have been able to bring care directly to those who need it most. Our professional teams provided therapeutic home visits, individualized activity kits that helped children and adults continue learning and engaging at home, and essential supplies for families under tremendous strain. These services preserved developmental progress, reduced anxiety, and gave exhausted caregivers practical relief during weeks of emergency conditions.
During this emergency response, Chimes Israel reached hundreds of vulnerable individuals across Israel, including preschool children, adults, older adults, and Arab Israeli participants with disabilities. Even while programs were temporarily closed, our therapists maintained weekly contact and home visits whenever possible so participants would not lose the support they depend on.
One young child became so frightened by repeated missile sirens that he refused to enter the family bomb shelter. A Chimes Israel center director connected with him through a video call, calmly reassuring him until he felt safe enough to enter the protected space with his family.
Another mother was trying to care for a child with disabilities while also looking after younger siblings and working remotely during constant missile alerts. During a home visit, a Chimes Israel therapist engaged her child with therapeutic activities, giving the exhausted mother a rare opportunity to prepare for the holiday and regain a sense of calm. We also supported a mother whose anxiety had become overwhelming after weeks of isolation. Our staff remained in close contact, connected her with professional services, and ensured that she did not face the crisis alone.
Today, our focus is twofold. We continue supporting families as they recover from months of disruption while preparing for the possibility of renewed attacks. We are also advancing projects to install protected shelters at our early childhood centers so children with disabilities can reach safety immediately when sirens sound.
Your partnership is doing far more than providing emergency assistance. It is protecting development, preserving dignity, strengthening families, and helping ensure that people with disabilities are never left behind—whether in today's recovery or during whatever challenges may lie ahead.
From everyone at Chimes Israel, and from the hundreds of children, adults, and families whose lives you are helping to protect, thank you for standing with us. Your compassion continues to make a profound difference.
