This project helps families in Himbi, Goma, North Kivu, by stopping the spread of Mpox. We provide mass awareness through megaphone outreach, social media, and local radio. We also support the most vulnerable, including displaced families, with hygiene kits and health education. Your donation directly helps prevent infections and save lives in a high-risk zone.
Mpox is spreading rapidly in North Kivu, with over 234 confirmed cases in Goma and Karisimbi alone. Families-especially those in crowded, informal settlements-lack information, protection, and resources to stay safe. Displaced populations living in poverty are at even greater risk. Without urgent intervention, the virus could spread uncontrollably and overwhelm the local health system.
We are launching a community-driven response in Himbi, Goma. With health educators, megaphone announcements, and mobile campaigns, we'll raise awareness fast. We distribute hygiene kits, promote safe practices like handwashing and distancing, and work with health officials to identify and isolate cases. Every dollar helps us reach more people, faster, and with lifesaving information.
This project will build long-term community resilience against Mpox and future outbreaks. By educating the public and empowering them with tools to protect themselves, we reduce transmission rates and save lives. Supporting displaced families with prevention tools also reduces their vulnerability. A healthy, informed community is the foundation for future stability and safety in Goma. ________________________________________
