Dear Donors,
We sincerely thank you for your interest in the Protect Girls from FGM in Rivers State, Nigeria project. At this time, no donations have been received, so the planned protection and awareness activities have not yet begun.
Many girls across Rivers State continue to face the danger of Female Genital Mutilation, a harmful practice that can cause serious physical injuries, emotional trauma, infections, and long-term reproductive complications. Lack of awareness and continued cultural pressure leave many girls vulnerable.
Without intervention, many girls remain at risk of school dropout, health complications, and reduced opportunities for safer and healthier futures.
This project is designed to provide community awareness campaigns, mentorship, counseling, school support, and safe spaces for girls and families. Local schools, caregivers, and community leaders will also receive guidance on the dangers of FGM and safer alternatives that protect girls' wellbeing.
With the right support, more girls can remain healthy, continue their education, and grow up free from harmful practices that affect their future opportunities.
We remain hopeful that support will come so this important protection project can begin and reach vulnerable girls across Rivers State.
Thank you for your kindness and continued support.
Sincerely,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
