Progres on Protect Environment for Our Protection

By Joyce Kinyamgala | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

We are excited to share the latest update on our Protect Environment for Our Protection (PEP) project. This initiative continues to focus on combating deforestation, promoting environmental conservation, and empowering communities in Tanzania through tree planting and sustainable practices.

Current Status of the Project

Since our last report, where we shared progress on planting 14,630 trees in Nguruka ward, Kigoma region, the project remains active in planning and community engagement, even though new donations have not yet arrived to fund further expansion.

Our team has focused on:

  1. Community Engagement
Local youth and women groups remain motivated and engaged, ready to resume tree planting and environmental awareness activities once funding is available.

Key Challenges

  • No New Donations: We have not received fresh funding since our last report, slowing planned activities.
  • Paused Field Activities: Most new tree planting, nursery expansions, and community training sessions are on hold until resources are secured.

Next Steps / Planned Activities

Once funding is secured, we plan to:

  • Expand tree nurseries to new strategic locations across Tanzania
  • Conduct additional tree planting, including fruit trees and agroforestry species
  • Provide community training on environmental conservation and tree care
  • Strengthen local volunteer networks for sustainable project implementation

Long-Term Impact

The PEP project aims to plant 1,000,000 trees across Tanzania, strengthen local environmental stewardship, and improve livelihoods by integrating agroforestry with community development. Every seedling nurtured contributes to a greener, more resilient Tanzania.

How You Can Help

Your support is crucial to restart and sustain project activities:

  • Donate: Even $1 helps protect a seedling or plant a new tree.
  • Spread the Word: Share our project with friends and networks passionate about environmental conservation.

Appreciation

We sincerely thank all our supporters for standing with NESODO and the communities we serve. Your continued support keeps the vision of a greener Tanzania alive, and we look forward to sharing more positive progress in our next report.

Warm regards,
