By Joyce Kinyamgala | Project Leader
Dear Supporters,
We sincerely thank you for your continued support and encouragement in our mission to protect the environment in Tanzania through the “Protect Environment for our Protection (PEP)” project.
Since our last update, where we reported the planting of 14,630 trees and significant community engagement in Nguruka ward, Kigoma region, we regret to inform you that we have not received any new donations to support continued activities under this project. This funding gap has made it difficult to move forward with the next planned activities.
Current Status of the Project
Due to the lack of financial resources, we have had to temporarily pause the expansion of our tree nurseries, additional tree planting, and community training sessions. The seedlings prepared for transplantation remain in nurseries, but without adequate support, it is challenging to ensure their survival during the dry season, especially with limited access to irrigation.
Despite these challenges, we remain committed to our long-term goal of planting 1,000,000 trees and empowering communities to take active roles in environmental conservation. Our team continues to explore local collaborations and alternative support strategies while monitoring the already planted trees and maintaining community engagement through volunteer efforts.
Challenges Faced
Our Appeal
We remain hopeful and are still driven by the belief that together, we can create lasting environmental change. We kindly appeal to our supporters:
Looking Forward
We are preparing proposals and working on partnership building to ensure we can resume our activities as soon as resources allow. The vision remains alive, and our dedication is stronger than ever.
Thank you once again for being part of this journey, and we hope to return in the next report with positive updates and renewed momentum.
