Project Update & Progress

By Joyce Kinyamgala | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

We are pleased to share an update on the progress of the Protect Environment for Our Protection (PEP) Project. This initiative aims to combat deforestation and promote environmental conservation in Tanzania by planting trees and engaging communities in sustainable practices.

Key Achievements

Tree Planting Progress

  • To date, we have successfully planted 14,630 trees in Nguruka ward, Kigoma region.
  • These trees include fruit-bearing varieties like mango, avocado, and orange, as well as agroforestry species such as eucalyptus and teak.

Community Engagement & Education

  • NESODO has mobilized youth and women to participate in tree planting and nursery management.
  • We conducted awareness sessions on the importance of tree planting in combating climate change and improving livelihoods.

Tree Nurseries & Expansion

  • We have identified 25 strategic locations across Tanzania for future tree nurseries.
  • In the past months, our nursery operations have expanded, with over 500 seedlings ready for transplantation.

Challenges Faced

Limited Irrigation Systems

  • Many planted trees require consistent watering, especially during the dry season. Lack of irrigation infrastructure puts them at risk.

Funding Constraints

  • Our biggest challenge has been the lack of new donations, limiting our ability to expand tree nurseries and provide community training.

Call to Action: How You Can Help

Donate Today: Every $1 helps plant one tree and supports community training.
Spread Awareness: Share our mission with your networks.
Looking Ahead

Despite the challenges, our vision remains strong: planting 1,000,000 trees across Tanzania. With your support, we can achieve this milestone and create a greener, more sustainable future.

Thank you for standing with us in this journey. Your support means the world to us!
