On behalf of Darfur Women Network, I would like to share a special update about the impact of your support. For International Women’s Day, March 8th, Darfur Women Network is excited to share that an additional 200 Safe Stoves were made and will be distributed in Chad, in a Darfur refugee camp, thank you for your contribution!
Your International Women’s Day’s gift, will help refugee women to earn income, take care of their children, increase their self-esteem, improve interfamily relationships, and change the perception of the community toward women.
Your gift will also help 200 mothers to reduce their trips to collect firewood from the forest by 75%. You are protecting them from rape, improving the healthy environment of their homes, and increasing their safety.
Our president of the Board is currently in Chad. Our Project Manager Assistant departed to the refugee camp to lead our gift project. The communication is not the best. Since he left to Chad, on February 25, 2017, I could not reach him.
He will work with the team to execute this project and he will interview the refugees who collect firewood in the forest and collect information regard Safe Stoves beneficiaries and the Economic Empowerment group who produce Safe Stoves.
Our Executive Director, Mastora Bakhiet, was one of the five women whom were honored at Women of Grace event. It was organized by Dr. Diana Jackson-Davis, Diversity & Inclusion, and Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, IN.
We will share the information as soon as we receive it.
Thank you so much for your countless support.
