Dear donors, followers and friends,
During the month of December our project was receiving donations through the GlobalGiving website. With all bonuses we managed to get almost 2,500 USD which for us is a great amount of money. We would sincerely like to thank you all for your big support. We appreciate very much that you were interested in our case and willing to help our problem, although many of you live thousands of miles/kilometers away.
The money collected will increase our 2014 budget. We will be able to invite more than 500 vulnerable children to visit our foundation every day, have a lunch and attend our workshops, social behavior instruction and pedagogical reinforcement. We believe that this will be able to change the future of many of these youth. We hope that almost none of them will stay on the street, involved in drugs, violence or prostitution.
As the foundation tries to use its resources efficiently – at the moment we count only with the stuff of 5 people employed on a full-time basis (gaining minimum wage) and volunteers. You can be sure than the money will reach the kids directly.
After the Christmas break the foundation opens its doors next Monday (20th of January).
If you travel to Colombia anytime in the future, you will always be invited to visit us here in Manizales.
