With your support, we were able to make some renovations and improvements to a local kindergarten in Gaza serving 177 children. One of the improvements was the creation of a library corner filled with new story books, pop-up books, and educational picture books plus a comfortable space for group reading time.
The kindergarten is located in Msader Village which is an agriculture village in the eastern part of occupied Gaza Strip. Many of the families are farmers who have suffered when Israeli forces bulldozed farm land and homes in the village. Before MECA's work in the kindergarten there was no library and there were not enough places for the children to sit.
Retaj, one of the teachers, explained the effect of project including the library corner: "We can see the positive impacts on the children of the kindergarten, it improved the quality of education, provided required means for active learning and alleviated the psychological stress of children."
