Because of inclement weather, VJ was not able to scale Mt. Aconcagua. In spite of great will power and dedication, nature did not favor him. This is his message
"My attempt to summit Aconcagua in Argentina failed due to very bad weather The weather on Aconcagua was mostly sunny but the strong winds starting Jan 5th made things fall apart. Jetstream winds up to 100kmh were forecasted and the forecasts were right. It was one of the hardest decision I had to ever make was to turn around when you are so close to the summit. If I analyze things now, I know it was the right decision. With 100kmph winds it made it literally impossible to move ahead and the risks were too high of frost bites as I also had to come back to ground safely.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. The price of hard work is success, dedication and determination that whether I win or lose I have given it my all and left it on the mountain. I have not been able to summit but I have not lost my spirit. It was a challenging experience pushing myself on a climb testing my ability both mentally and physically. Not succeeding gives me a good reason to set bigger goals and go back to these magical mountains. I have learnt a lot about my body and importantly my mind. I will step back and look bigger.
I have so many people to thank (including you who encourage me by simply following - THANK YOU), my friends, family and everyone who have shown support in your own ways."
With your help, we have raised more than $20,000 through various sources. We will utilise the donation for education of our children. Thanks so much for being with us in this journey.
