In our resolve to drive home our mission of embarking on the holistic rehabilitation of prison inmates in our community that is, deploying all necessary tools and actions to refine inmates in custody to be economically, socially and morally useful to themselves, their parents, their community and the society at large, C4HDI scheduled our regular annual football match for the 25th of September 2023 for inmates in all our prisons (now known as Correctional Centers).
The target is to among others, stabilize, promote and boost the confidence, psychological and education of the inmates in custody and when discharged. Recall that C4HDI are training the inmates in skill acquisition, craft learning, formal education, sports and farming to equip them with valuable knowledge for employment or can employ people by themselves.
The football match was as usual, warmly welcomed by inmates, prison officials and other stakeholders. There was shouts of joy throughout and after the feat. All enjoyed the match as psychological tension was relieved. The other aim of embarking on this sporting event is to balance the psyche of the inmates to take and easily understand what we teach them.
The success of this feat tells that we are impacting positively and should do more as the prison inmates, officials and stakeholders demand of us. We, C4HDI is more poised to do more.
An inevitable event about the match was the restriction placed on video recording of the match in the prison yard but, we tried our best to record a commentary right after the match to send to our donors, facilitators, stakeholders and community.
The restriction is not unconnected to the current political tension in our community.
Thanks.
C4HDI Team.
