Updates
Anchor Group
Our open group is still ongoing despite the fact that we have had a drop in attendance. We believe this has happened due to enrollment in other extracurricular activities and a challenge to keep the curriculum engaging. Previously, we had a set number of weeks to complete a cohort. However, since we are not closing our group, we have had to become creative. We are striving to find new curriculum and are looking for new activities to implement in our sessions. In addition, we are hopeful that new group members will be joining us soon.
Individual Sessions
We have received another influx of this age group who we meet with on a regular basis. We are grateful to have several advocates available to provide services for our young individual clients. This age group appreciates the opportunity to process their pain through the utilization of activities, art expression, and games.
Navigate Presentations
Navigate school presentations are on hold while children are on summer break. However, we do have some potential presentations in the works for the next school year.
Miscellaneous
We are blessed to have new storage for our project supplies. We are even more grateful to have volunteers/our husbands (John Beller and Terry Conley) to come help us assemble it!
Needs
Fair Haven would still benefit from more funding to be able to purchase additional space to be able to run our programs and groups more effectively. We are dreaming of the day when we can have one room in which the main focus is utilization for art expression and working with Anchor clients.
A lack of transportation also continues to be a hindrance to program enrollment and participation.
We are eagerly looking for new curriculum, games, and activities for our young clients.
As always, we want to thank you, on behalf of the staff and participants of Project Anchor, for your generous support of our program and our mission to help the hurting youth in our community.
