Updates
Project Anchor originally began with the intention to work with adolescent female childhood survivors of trauma and violence. However, as the demand continues to rise for a program like Project Anchor, we have come to the realization that there are additional issues of the young adolescent females in our community that need to be addressed. As a result of this discovery, we have expanded our program even more and have begun working with recent young victims of rape and sexual assault.
What This Means
The dynamics of working with a group of recent victims versus a group of childhood survivors has been a bit different. As a result, we have modified our program curriculum some more in order to effectively meet the needs of all of our participants. Ultimately, we anticipate in the near future that we will be creating “Tiers” of the Anchor group program: one tier of curriculum focused on childhood survivors and the other tier centered on helping recent rape and sexual assault victims.
Other News
The feature of the Anchor program designated toward helping individual clients continues to move ahead. We have had a consistent client base and have recently added a few more clients during the past few months. As we venture onward with this special population we continuously research for creative modalities and interventions to help our clients. Thus, we have added additional items to our wish list once again.
