Project Anchor- adolescent victims of sexual abuse

The last few months have flown by and do we have exciting news! Our Executive Director, Kelly Vates, signed the Purchase Agreement for our building on May 22, 2024! We have about 45 days to complete the Building Inspection and a survey of the property. We anticipate having possession of the property in early July 2024.

It is crazy to believe that we have acquired our building and are doing renovations as I type this. It truly has been a long time coming but we are so eager to begin this journey. With expanding our building, we are including a new Teen room (Pelican Sponsorship) for our adolescent clients! This space will hold our teen support groups and adolescent individual advocacy services. Our hope is to create a calming yet exciting space for our teens to be themselves and feel as comfortable as possible.

Did you know that nearly 25% of our clients are 18 years of age or under! The Pelican Sponsorship will assist us in creating a space dedicated for their support groups and individual sessions.

With most big projects, we will need some additional support from amazing donors! As we are putting in fresh carpet and cleaning out this office- we are looking to purchase cool and sensory-friendly furniture for this room. Again, we want this space to be calming yet exciting for our teens (if you have a teenager, you know how picky they can be!). We want this to be their safe port in the storm that is sexual violence! Any donation is greatly appreciated and will help us toward this goal.
