Over the past few months, Fair Haven's Child Sexual Abuse Prevention/Education Department has been occupied prepping for a busy school presentation season!

As we move into the upcoming school year, we are beyond excited to offer new prevention curriculums to Lake, Porter, and La Porte counties in Northwest Indiana. For 6th-8th grade, we will utilize the Teen Safety Matters curriculum from the Monique Burr Foundation. For 9th-12th, we are implementing the What Would I Do? curriculum from the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault & Human Trafficking.

These new curriculums are designed to be interactive and conversational with students. There are small group activities and plenty of dialogue to engage students and be impactful. These curriculums are specifically designed to empower students with the education to keep themselves safe and healthy. The creators of the curriculums are constantly updating their educational components, and are frequently updating material based on feedback given by students.

As the new coordinator of the department, I have been searching for new ways to connect with people in the community and other youth-serving organizations. Through collaboration, we can better serve and meet the needs of society's future leaders.

Fair Haven RCC takes pride in providing excellent prevention education to the community. Through hard work and donations from supporters like you, we can offer schools the materials to ensure each student receives resources for empowerment and support. Investing in our youth will guarantee that we will build a safer and kinder future for all.
