Dear Donors,
Thanks to your continued support, we’re thrilled to share an exciting update from our Production Assistant (PA) Certification Program, a cornerstone of Justice for My Sister’s Workforce Development initiatives.
This summer, we launched a new cohort of participants who have successfully completed the virtual portion of their training and are now moving into the hands-on phase of the program. Over the past several weeks, our fellows have learned about set etiquette, nonviolent communication, and on-set safety while exploring pathways to union membership and long-term careers in film and television.
Soon, they will be putting their skills to work on professional productions across Los Angeles County, gaining paid, mentored experience that will open doors in an industry that’s too often inaccessible to BIPOC and women-identifying filmmakers.
This cohort reflects our continued commitment to equitable workforce development, supported by the generosity of donors like you whose contribution allows us to provide stipends, mentorship, and career placement support.
We’re proud to share that interest from local producers continues to grow. Many have reached out requesting to hire our certified PAs, a testament to the program’s quality and the professionalism of our graduates. Our goal is to ensure that every participant can access paid opportunities that match their training and ambition.
As we look ahead, your support will help us sustain and expand this vital pipeline.
Please confsider visiting our page to make a contribution today.
With gratitude,
Justice for My Sister
