Prevention of domestic violence in Mexican homes

Thanks to your support through GlobalGiving, in 2025 Fundación Proyecto DEI continued preventing domestic violence by addressing its root causes in early childhood and family environments. We focus on the first years of life, when emotional bonds, caregiving practices, and support systems play a critical role in shaping safe and non-violent futures.

Through our integrated programs—prenatal and postpartum support, sensitive and nurturing caregiving, socio-emotional development through play, and the strengthening of community support networks—we provided caregivers with practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and build positive relationships with their children. These interventions help reduce risk factors associated with domestic violence, including caregiver isolation, emotional overwhelm, and lack of support.

Families participating in our programs reported increased emotional security, improved communication, and greater confidence in resolving conflicts without violence. Children developed key protective skills such as emotional expression, empathy, and self-regulation, which are essential for long-term well-being and violence prevention.
