"Children are never at fault when abused. Therefore, do not blame children when they are abused.
Children can be sexually abused in all three forms, physical contact - without physical contact- via the internet.
Both girls and boys can be sexually abused."
Those are the 3 messages that 30 children have drawn when participating in the Seminar on "Child Sexual Abuse Prevention" which took place on the morning of July 15 in Kenh Duong Ward (Le Chan, Hai Phong). All of them attended the training course on the same topic in November 2021. The seminar was held within the framework of the project "Scarlet Sails" with the cooperation between the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) and the Hai Phong Women's Union.
The seminar was not only an opportunity for the students to review their knowledge of child sexual abuse prevention but also an opportunity for them to share their changes after 8 months of participating in the training course. What do you remember about the topic of child sexual abuse prevention? Who did I tell? What have you put into practice? Have you met or know someone who engages in risky behavior, and what have you done? All these things have been vividly reproduced by the children through the paintings of “the river of time”.
On this occasion, VSF also officially launched the short film "What you need to do to prevent sexual abuse". This is a communication product produced within the framework of the project "Scarlet Sails" implemented by VSF and Hai Phong Women's Union to provide basic knowledge on prevention of child sexual abuse and needed help address. The film has the direct participation of 5 children who are participants of the past training courses and seminars.
“We appreciate VSF's attention and facilitation for children in Kenh Duong ward in particular and Hai Phong city in general. Thanks to participating in the project "Scarlet Sails", the children have had a clear change in behavior and communication. They were more confident. Thank VSF for always spreading love, sharing and directing good things to children.” - Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Thanh, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Kenh Duong Ward shared.
The journey of the project “Scarlet Sails” will continue with interesting and meaningful activities. Please follow the VSF' communication channels to not miss out.
