Rescue Paws Curacao 2026 Q1 update

Some of the dogs who found their forever homes
Some of the dogs who found their forever homes

Thanks to your generous support, 2026 has already been a remarkable year for the dogs of Curaçao. So far this year, 108 dogs have found their forever homes through Rescue Paws Curaçao, with another 42 adoptions already reserved. Every single one of these dogs received a full medical check-up, flea and tick treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, and blood work before being placed. Your donations make this possible — because while adoption fees cover the basics, they don't stretch far enough when a dog needs extra care. Two of our current foster dogs are facing significant surgeries — one for a kneecap issue and one for anal gland problems — and a dog adopted just two weeks ago was found to have an underlying hip condition that we are continuing to support. These are the unexpected moments where donor funding truly makes the difference between a dog suffering and a dog healing.

Beyond our shelter and foster network, we have helped more than 150 dogs living on the streets or with local families who lack the financial means to provide proper care. These dogs received flea and tick treatments and deworming — small interventions that dramatically improve a dog's daily quality of life and prevent the spread of parasites. We also purchased and fitted out a dedicated food storage container, properly insulated to keep out rats and pests. This allows us to safely store bulk food donations and distribute them efficiently to our network of feeders and community members who are caring for dogs but struggling to provide for them. Finally, we have ordered three new catch cages, currently on their way to the island, which will allow us to reach and sterilize dogs that have so far been impossible to trap — a crucial step in reducing the stray population at its root.

Every donation to Rescue Paws Curaçao goes directly to the dogs — their food, their medicine, their surgeries, and their second chances. As we head further into 2026, our sterilization campaigns, street care outreach, and adoption work continue to grow. The need on the island remains enormous, but so does the impact of your support. If you are able to give again — even a small amount — it goes directly toward treatments, food, and the kind of care that turns a suffering street dog into a happy, healthy companion. Thank you for being part of this mission.
