Thanks to the kind anonymous donor who donated to the cervical cancer screening project. We need more help from you so that we can help prevent cervical cancer among Nepalese women.
Cervical Cancer is the most frequent cancer affecting women in Nepal. Approximately 3.2 million Nepalese women aged 30-60 years currently require screening for cervical cancer. However, cervical cancer screening programs are few and it is thought that less than 2% of women have ever been screened. A recent cervical cancer screening conducted by the Cancer Care Nepal among 3829 women between the ages of 30-60 years showed that 0.31% of the participants had early cancers of the cervix, and 63.5% of them had inflammatory diseases of the cervix.
Due to lack of access to healthcare and lack of resources, most women in developing countries like Nepal do not get screened for cervical cancer. Those who seek medical help are often diagnosed at the advanced stage of cervical cancer.
During the first phase of this project, we aim to screen and treat 1000 women in rural communities. However, the goal of this project is not only to screen and treat 1000 women but also to increase awareness among women between the ages of 30-60 about cervical cancer and its prevention.
With your support, we can save lives of thousands of women from a preventable illness such as cerivcal cancer. Please help us help the underprivileged.
