My name is Rahimata and I am proud to be a midwife! I was orphaned and raised by an uncle from the age of three. Despite his very limited income, he did all he could to ensure that I could go to school.
Receiving my midwifery training scholarship from Global NEEED Burkina transformed my life. Today, I exercise my profession with pride, providing health services to women and their young children. To me, midwifery is not just a profession. It’s a calling, a commitment and a responsibility to the community. Recently, a patient remarked that I am “the heart of the community health center, always ready to do anything for the population”. This remark touched me deeply.
In the course of my work, I hope to demonstrate that support given at the right moment can change a life and allow a person to become, in turn, a source of hope for all the community.
I wish to express my profound appreciation to Global NEEED Burkina and its partners for your continued investment in the education of young village women and, in turn, the health and welfare of their communities.
