It's summer, and now is the time we are putting together all the pieces for our 2012 Portland Opera To Go tour. We will be touring a 50-minute English language version of the romantic-era opera Hansel and Gretel. Our goal is to tour ten-weeks and reach 17,000 children across the state of Oregon.
The Project has already received more than $100,000 in support including major gifts from KeyBank, U.S. Bancorp Foundation, The Oregon Arts Commission and the PGE Foundation among others.
On September 24, 2011, Portland Opera will be presenting our first ever Big Night Gala in support of our education and outreach programs. Our goal is to raise an additional $80,000 to help expand our efforts to reach children and rural communities. Please visit www.portlandopera.org/operas/2011-2012/gala-concert-big-night to learn more about this exciting concert and how you can order tickets.
