By JOHN PHILIP | PROJECT LEAD
On behalf of the primary school pupils of the isalnd of Ukerwe in Tanzania I want to say a huge thank you to our donors.
With your help we have been able to provide over 900 class room desks, encourage sustainable farming, plant thousands of trees and build six fuel efficient kitchens in schools. The combined outcome is that in 13 schools the pupils, supported by the teachers, are able to grow maize and sorgham to make porridge for the whole school - some with nearly 1000 pupils.
Most things we have achieved are sustainable and will have an ongoing benefical effect on this underserved community.
Teachers and pupils often talk about thier global family which we hope will assist in sowing the seeds of universal brotherhood in the minds of these children.
In the last year the world has changed, there are competing claims for our goodwill and generosity. So sadly we are having to close this project. But your goodwill will endure. Thank you.
