By Bob Maahe | Project leader
As usual like any other day of sanitary pads distribution 08th February 2019, John Mary and his team left here to give out menstruation education and sanitary pads distribution to the beneficiaries.
Interacted with both students and teachers thereafter, the program started, Joan was ready with her presentation, she took over the arena and started presenting, involved the girls in the presentation and majorly the presentation looked at how the used pads can be disposed and in case of reusable ones, how are they kept before reaching home.
While John Mary was interacting with the senior woman, she was quoted saying that " Ending sanitary pads project, a disastrous to us" Our enrollment not only for girls but also for boys has increased due this project, our main worry now is that the project might be ending soon.
This might lead to loosing school children bigger numbers not because they are going to other schools but dropping out. All the parents and Kampala Capital City Authority have been looking at us as a model school in minding a lot about the girl child.
She requested for project continuation but this still will also depend on our beloved project supporters. the more the links and new donors on board, the more the chance to continue the project, John Mary said.
We also really need to continue supporting the project, but we are constrained with resources and we cannot keep funding one project, we need also to see how together we can sustain this such that we can also start virgin projects for other side of the needy ones.
