We are pleased to report that both Mamba and Rainbow continue to enjoy their well-deserved retirement at Stud Horse Riding. Both ponies remain happy and in good health, and it is wonderful to see them enjoying a life free from the hard work they endured for so many years.
The past few months have certainly not been without their challenges. Gili Trawangan has experienced significant problems with its fresh water supply, which has been a particularly difficult and expensive situation for us. With so many horses in our care, access to clean, fresh water is absolutely essential. At times, we have had no choice but to arrange for fresh water to be transported daily from mainland Lombok, at considerable expense. Despite these challenges, ensuring that our horses have everything they need has remained our absolute priority.
On a happier note, both Mamba and Rainbow recently enjoyed a visit from an equine massage therapist. We are always looking for ways to improve the comfort and wellbeing of our horses, particularly those who spent so many years doing physically demanding work. It was lovely to see them receiving some extra care and attention.
Now that the busy season has come to an end, things are becoming much quieter at Stud. While the reduced number of visitors makes generating income more challenging, it does mean that our horses can enjoy a slower pace of life, with more time for leisurely beach walks, grooming sessions and plenty of individual attention.
Mamba continues to be his usual gentle, affectionate self, always happy to receive a groom or a carrot. Rainbow is also doing well, and we continue to work patiently on building his confidence and trust in people. Both boys are enjoying their retirement, and we couldn't be happier to see them safe, healthy and content.
As always, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to support Mamba and Rainbow. The recent water crisis has placed an additional financial burden on the sanctuary, and with the quieter low season upon us, donations are more important than ever.
Your generosity allows us to continue providing these wonderful ponies with the care, comfort and security they deserve for the rest of their lives.
Thank you for being part of their journey.
