By Charles Ward | Executive Director
Unfortunately, the renovation of two more homes occupied by polio victims were placed on "hold" March 2.
There is a dispute concerning property and home ownership. It was discovered, just before the contractor was to begin work, that the local government has title to the land, while the occupants have ownership of the physical structure. Authorities must determine who owns what and that process is on-going. This will take some time and in the interim, VWAM must wait before moving forward.
In addition, the Vets WIth A Mission teams that was to travel to Vietnam February 20 and March 6 have been postponed. This is due to the conronavirus and primarily travel related issues with the health crisis. VWAM's visit has been rescheduled to the fall in October-November.
Charles Ward, Executive Director, will not be able to make an on-site visit of this project this month as planned. Vets With A Mission is commited to the project, but will refrain from fundraising until the land and home ownership issue is resolved.
Hopefully like the previous 9 home repairs, renovations and rebuilds, it won't be long before the project may move forward!
