Conflict, intercommunal violence, and hate speech continue to place pressure on communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, particularly affecting young people, women, and other groups living in fragile environments. In this context, our Podcast for Raising Awareness of Non-Violence project aims to create a simple and accessible space for peace education, dialogue, tolerance, and conflict prevention. Through podcasts shared on local radio and social media, the project will give young people, community leaders, educators, and other community members an opportunity to share experiences, discuss peaceful solutions, and promote messages that encourage coexistence. Our goal is not only to speak about peace, but to help make peaceful dialogue part of everyday community life.
The project is currently in its preparation and resource-mobilization phase. We are identifying trainers and potential learners who will participate in the project and preparing the activities needed to launch the podcast program. The total project budget is $10,000, and we have not yet received project funding. This means that every contribution will play an important role in helping us move from preparation to implementation. With the support of GlobalGiving, we are working to reach our fundraising goal and bring this initiative to communities that need opportunities for dialogue and peaceful engagement. We believe that violence should not become a permanent way of life and that communities can choose dialogue, understanding, and non-violence.
