Dear Friends,
Our mission season is in full swing, and we have 12 mission teams going to Colombia over the next several months. Each one of these trips is an awesome opportunity for people that live in the US to witness first-hand the life transforming work of our organization. It is also an amazing opportunity to transform the lives of our mission team members, as they see a different world from that they know, and meet wonderful people and families that have such capacity and hope in the impoverished communities that we work.
During these trips, we get the chance to talk to many of the children in our schools and the community. They share their dreams with us, and their hopes for the future. They also often share what they hope to receive for a birthday or Christmas present. It can be anything from a doll, to a new backpack. Sometimes it is a wish for some repairs to their homes roof, so that they do not get wet when it rains. Often the types of things we take for granted are not available in their reality, or can take years of saving.
We are so thankful for those that are supporting our little Christmas and birthday fund, and want to share the attached pictures and notes of thanks from Juan Pablo and Geraldine. Juan Pablo lives in the community of Lucero Alto in Bogota and attends our CDA school. Geraldine lives in El Pozon, Cartagena, and attends our CDA school.
We wish you many blessings, and heartfelt gratitude for your kind generosity.
Your Faithful Servants at Conviventia
