We would like to share the happy news that we raised all the needed funds and are completing the crowdfunding campaign. Although it still shows that the aim was not achieved, the remaining funds were donated by local companies Baker Tilly Bishkek and CELA Kyrgyzstan!
We are pleased to announce that work on the playground area and equipment in Osh has begun as well. Soon the over 3,000 children who visit the center each year will have an area to play that is accessible to all. Due to your generous donations, what was once just an empty plot of ground in front of a building will be transformed into an area where children can laugh, play, and have fun in the outdoors.
Volunteers from the area have been hard at work making this project a reality. It has been a community-wide effort to realize this dream. Men, women, and children have pitched in together to help prepare the land for the playground that has been funded through your generous help.
Our partner in Osh has begun making the equipment for the playground. There are plans to make carousels, sandboxes, swings, and horizontal bars adapted for children with disabilities. Once the construction is completed, the installation will begin. In a short time, the playground will move from being a dream to a reality. The children at the center are all excited to start playing on everything being built.
At Kelechek Healthprom, we feel that inclusive playgrounds can bring disabled children together with others where they can interact and play without barriers. . Inclusive playgrounds are an excellent venue for children with and without disabilities to meet face to face and enjoy one another’s company. All involved gain social skills, become more accepted and integrated in their community, and improve their lifestyles through physical exercise.
None of this could have happened without your generous support. Thank you for all your contributions that will certainly bring smiles to the faces of the children who will have a place for recreation. Every smile makes the world a better place. We hope that you continue to support more projects like this one in the future. We will provide an update and pictures as soon as the playground is finished.
