Dear all,
We are so grateful to each and everyone of you that supported our #GivingTuesday2022 campaign. This was our most successful 24 hour campaign yet! Including GlobalGiving's portion of the incentive fund, our grand total was an astounding $2221!
This campaign was focused on fundraising to support Manuel at Manu Shapes. You can read more on our micro project page: A Workshop for Manu Shapes in Tofo, Mozambique. Our Vanderful Volunteers Vikki and Amy C designed a campaign 'surf activity pack' for young people on social media, amongst two LIVE online events talking to Manuel himself.
Manu Shapes
After our visit in July, and thanks to Vanderful Volunteers Frankie and Guillhaume, Paulownia Italy, Stanley Tools Italia, Bessey Clamps, Burnett Wooden Surfboards and Makerspace Carinthia, Manuel had all the tools and materials necessary to teach Surf Craftsmanship to the young people of Tofo, however, unfortunately due to a change of circumstances, Manuel had to seek an alternative location to run his workshops.
After a few months of rentless searching, having his bicycle stolen (and returned), Manuel's spirits were dampened until... this campaign! Since #GivingTuesday 2022, we have transferred enough funds to support Manuel in the purchasing some land of his own!
Our Vanderful team are so excited to see what's in store for Manu Shapes in 2023. Please keep updated with our GlobalGiving page as we will continue to share Manuel's progress as we take another step closer to our ultimately goal of building a Vanderful centre in the community of Tofo.
