2100 Moringa olifera seedlings raised in our Nursery for 2015 Tree Planting.
As a result of the generous donation from our partners, a total of 2,100 seedling of Moringa Olifera was raised between March to May 2015. The nutritional benefit of Moringa as the Tree of life or the Miracle tree and the need for an additional funding source to take care of the over 150,000 planted trees, it was resolved that 2000 moringa be planted this year. At maturity, it will be harvested and the leave will be processed for export. We will be very grateful if any of our partners could introduce this project to companies in western world that need our moringa product. Our Moringa leaves in the field are 100% biological, no artificial fertilizer and are growing in the rich loamy soil in Africa.
21 hectares of deforested land brushed for tree planting in 2015, at Ehor forest reserved in Edo state, Nigeria.
As part of the preparation for the planting of 2100 moringa raised in our nursery in Benin City ,Edo state , 21 hectares of deforested land was prepared by our workers. This was made possible by the generous donation of our partners, the serious effort of our dedicated staff and the support of the President and Board members of Associacion Bernadette Strebel World Peace in Europe. During the brushing operation with cutlass, some of the workers sustained serious injury, because of the thickness or density of the bush with thorns. One of the workers encountered a snake which spate on his eye, but we were able to handle the situation by rushing him to the hospital.
After the brushing operation, bush burning and packing was done. Also another important forestry operation, call peg collection and pegging was equally carried out. Pegging operation, apart from determining the accuracy of recommended spacing distance it also ensures the planted trees are in straight line pole wise and crosswise. The recommended spacing for Moringa in an agro forestry program is 3.5meter by 3.5meters.
Women employed into the scheme in our forest operations
In the Trees for Peace Project, we are living the example. We are now engaging women in our forest operations. Men and women are equal. The trend in most Africa societies that places the Man above the Woman MUST stop. To this end, we have given women and men equal opportunities and we are also paying them just as their male counterpart.

As part of the activities worldwide, marking World Environment Day Celebration , the Project Manager and his team flag off the 2015 trees planting .A Moringa seedling was planted in commemorating this day and it was dedicated to all our numerous sponsors in GlobalGiving and ALL PERSONS who long for A World OF PEACE
More Families have benefitted from the Agro forestry program in the Trees for Peace Project
The agro forestry program in the Trees for Peace Project was introduced to empower rural families and also to provide shade for the young forest seedling in the permanent site. After the land preparations, the 21 hectares of land was allocated to 18 families among whom 9 are widows. As the Moringa trees are planted on a 3.5meters by 3.5 meters spacing, Arable crops having a life span of 3 to 5 months are also planted between these crop by the beneficiary families. The arable crops include cocoyam, water melon, tomatoes, pepper and okra. When the crops are matures, they are harvested, some are eaten and others are sold in the local market to give the family additional income. This one of the ways our donor partners in GlobalGiving are helping to improve the living standard of rural Africa populace who live less than 1 USD daily.

The elders of Ehor communities, Edo state Nigeria, thanks our partners in GlobalGiving for sustaining the Trees for Peace Project with their love gift/donations. They also thank the board members of Associacion Bernadette Strebel World peace Europe, Christian Gut and Robert Gerritsma in Switzerland. They appreciate your dedication especially, at this tough time in Nigeria, with the fall of the oil price in the international market, when the Federal Government and State Government are unable to pay staff salaries for 3 to 10 months. Though it has not been easy for the Management Team of the Trees for Peace Project as we are working under a very tight budget, but we have been able to pay the workers for all the work done from January till June 2015, payment of the Project Manager and the Deputy Project manager salary. Finally the Management teams thanks all our partners from GlobalGiving for their support and for sustaining this project. We kindly need you ever cherish support for a Project vehicle to be able to continue the maintenances of the planted trees and other forest operations. A second hand Toyota Hilux van will be most cherished by the workers as it will help to convey them to the farm and bring them to the village after close of work
