Dear all, we take this opportunity to give you an update on the project. Some of the latests news:
- Donors Visiting the plantation:
A mayor donator along with a team member of our team have just returned after visiting the Plantation in Nigeria, the past week. They had a chance to actually see the trees maintained by all of you. We received great feedback from them, they were deeply impressed by the project, saying that it was an incredible experience that will strengthen their commitment and support.
- Increase in workforce:
As a result of the generous support received we were able to increase the workforce in the plantation. This is helping to reduce the unemployment rate not only in Ehor area, but in the whole Edo state. Also it is giving opportunities to the youth who are returning to the area. This impact has even been confirmed personally by the local authorities, including the Youth Chairman of Ehor and Irhue Community, Mr. Saturday Ohamen.
- 100% of the worker's children are now in school:
All our staff, including the recently hired workers are all now able to send their children to school.
In Nigeria, lots of Children are still out of school because of poverty and high rate of unemployment in the rural area. With the wages of the workers paid and up to date, they are now can afford their children school fees, buy books and meet other school requirements for the proper education of their children.
On behalf of all the people involved in the project, we want to thank you all for your help.
Without your support, we could not be taking care of the 156,000 trees planted to date. Your donations have kept the project going, paying workers their wages, improving the health of the trees, workers, families and supporting the growing forest.
As this year comes to an end, we are expanding our target in global giving. Your continuous support will help us in keeping the planted trees free from weeds and also support the new plantation in 2015.
You can help by donating in our globalgiving page
Thank you.
Sincerely.
