Challenge

There are not enough trees in this over- populated city in the state of Lagos which is fossilized- producing crude oil and housing African's largest oil refinery which releases climate greenhouse gas emissions. The city is showing great symtoms of climate change of extreme weather changes, rising temperatures, heatwaves, flooding and unpredictable weather patterns.

Solution

Tree planting has become a tool for fighting climate change It offers wide environmental and social benefits and it is a means to responsibly and impactfully contribute to reforestation efforts globally. Trees sequester carbon ,produce oxygen, cool the surrounding, reduce severity of floods ,by slowing the flow of rainwater onto the ground and into the rivers. Trees improve air quality by filtering dusts and pollutants in the airTrees will reduce heat tremendously and stabilize weather..

Long-Term Impact

Climate change impacts are real and manifesting in unusual weather conditions and patterns, flooding, unhealthy cold in july rising temperatures and heat. These impacts will be dampened by trees .Ecosystem Restoration will become achievable on the long run. The city of Lagos with greater number of trees will become beautiful, calm and attractive to tourists and international investors .Your donation is critical and will be used to fund tree planting project by EARN in Lagos .
