Dear supporters,
we hope you and your family are healthy and safe. It is a difficult period for almost everybody in the world right now. We want to send you this update to let your mind relax for some time with all the news of Covid-19.
Nevertheless, the general news in Mali is not that positive either. The French forces have killed more than 50 jihadists aligned to Al-Qaeda in air strikes in central Mali. There is, due to several incidents and attacks in Europe also a high alert in Mali. Poverty, zero education and no hope of future employment are the food for Jihadi groups like al qaeda. Thats why our project is so important. Its not only about planting trees, but it is a just one part of the whole initiative we have been running in Kayes, Mali for several years. The chicken farm, the agricultural school, the self-employment of women and the planting of trees are all elements for a fair, ecological and economic solution for the people of Kayes.
Now lets give you some updates: We are still busy planting. Thanks to your contribution in the last months.
Our watersystem is still running perfectly as we told you last time. We are planting more on more trees. The older trees are growing perfectly and the women are selling papayas daily now.
As usual picture say more than word: so have a look at the new trees :) I also added photos of the older trees, so you can see them grow. And one photo of our chicken enjoying the sun, now that it is not yet so warm.
We will keep on doing what we are doing. We hope that our crew stays safe and healthy with the masks we made for them. All of our classes are still given outside on the fields with distancing.
Dont hestiate to help us reach our goals :)
Our goals stay the same, now in times of corona even more: enable people to earn their money in an ecological friendly manner.
