Saadani Nature Forest Reserve is a Nature Reserve present in Bagamoyo District in Tanzania. Focused in planting 20,000 trees.Will restore 5 water sources,provision of habitats for biodiversity especially animals and birds species,A honey pot for tourism activities, an important place for Indian Ocean Sustainability since it borders the ocean,medicinal plants provision for example Azadirachta indica species.Project will include the planting of fruits trees around local community.
Saadani Nature Forest has been being destructed by the human activities such as Livestock rearing, Farming activities results into forest fires which cause destruction of biodiversity and destruction of water sources available in the forest creating unstable water supply and run out of habitats of flora and fauna, also low food production and it increases in poverty due to low food availability
The Project aims at Planting 20,000 trees, will cover native and fruits species, to create resilience Local community by Restoration of 5 water sources to supply water to 10 Schools and also to local community.By planting Native Species of Trees also planting fruits trees Such as Mango, Avocado fruits to ensure food availability to local community and reduce stress on the forest resources.Also Project will provide employment opportunities for women and all local community members.
1.Restoration and control of important biodiversity habitats. 2.Promotion of Community Livelihood by inclusion of in ecological and ecosystem restoration programs by involving in the projects programs such as preparation of trees nurseries,planting seedlings in to the planting sites where we plant fruits trees for income generation and native species of trees. 3.Restoration of Water natural resources by planting best water retaining native species and reclamation of river streams to ensure water
