Training of Trainers!

By Dungrila Pascal Mbimenyuy | Project Leader.

Integrated Agricultural Association trained 34 trainers on the 31/01/2026 in Galim Sub-division, West region of Cameroon. Most of whom were IDPs with 24 women and 10 men. The training focused on Climate-smart agriculture techniques, How to improve soil health, Water conservation, Efficient irrigation, Proper farm planning and Integrated pest management, Compost production and it lasted for 5 hours.
It is part of the project to support IDPs and host community on agroforestry and business management, on how to do agriculture as a sustainable business and not hand to mouth activity. Our next program in the community will focus on training 100 women on the cultivation of huckleberry and entrepreneurship, and training 250 IDP households on Kitchen garden techniques and nutrition. These communities will be supported with seed inputs and tools to create sustainable farm businesses and households gardens to fight poverty and hunger.
Challenge;
IDPs do not have guaranteed land rights, they obtain farm plots through verbal land leasing agreements under unfavourable conditions that instead compound their problems. That is, landowners restrict them from planting drought resistance crops like cassava and do not respect the agreement deadline.
Way forward:
Integrated Agricultural Association will dialogue with municipal and traditional leaders to see how IDPs can be supported while building peaceful cohesion with the host community.
With your continued donation, IAA will help vulnerable women and IDPs increase household food security and nutrition, improve knowledge on climate-smart agriculture techniquesand increase their income.
Thank you for being part of our donor community.
With gratitude!
