Greetings PAWS supporters! We have fantastic news! We have been approved to receive a grant that will fund our much-hoped-for mobile veterinary clinic.
Within the next few months, we will begin outfitting a vehicle that will allow us to reach stray dogs in the rural areas of Cusco. It will be set up with the proper equipment needed for veterinarians to treat, vaccinate, and spay or neuter dogs in these outlying areas, where our attention is most needed. Without such a vehicle, it is almost impossible to treat dogs in these areas, where overpopulation is most rampant and overflows into the city.
Our first step will be procuring the right van for us, that can be customized for our needs. Then once it is in our hands, we can begin the outfitting work, which may take some time. But as soon as it is up and running, we can immediately begin treating animals.
We Still Need Your Help
However, it is important to note that the grant we received will only cover the costs of procuring and setting up the mobile clinic. It does not cover the costs of medicines, anesthetics, surgical equipment, gasoline for the vehicle, and other essential materials needed to carry out our work. This is where YOU come in. We need donations from our supporters! Please help us care for the stray dog population in Cusco and minimize the spread of disease and the suffering of these animals. Even the smallest donations help!
We look forward to updating you on the progress of the PAWS mobile veterinary clinic over the next months, and we hope to soon be sharing photos of our work across the city.
Can you help us spread the word? We hope that you can! And be sure to check out and follow our PAWS Facebook page!
Thank you, as always, for your continued and invaluable support!
