Dear Well-wishers,
Regards from Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch!
We do not have stopped working in this critical period. During the coivd-19 situation our constant support has been continued to the women and young girls in the rural communities of Bharuch district. As in Gujarat Higher secondary schools has been resumed we had started working with them. We had discussed with them about the safe hygiene practices during menstrual period and the changes in the body at the young age.
Our field team has organized different awareness campaign in different schools and interacted with girls on safe and hygienic practices to follow during their menstrual periods. After the sessions, the field officers have also arranged a question and answer sessions in which many girls have opened up and share their basic but very much important concerns. Which was well addressed and answer by our team.
We have observed that many of the girls due to the social norms and rigid culture do not able to share their concerns even with their family members, with the help of some of the elder friends they use local or unhygienic behaviors or practices which lead them to serious health related problems.
In the local tribal or local communities in Bharuch district we have started working with the girls and women on MHM and also giving them some of the pads at very low prices, which are really helping them. Our local volunteers are also very much active and support the women and girls on the field level, which has created a strong awareness, and our pads are also used by many girls and women instead on unhygienic clothes.
If you find this project worthy, than you can support us in creating awareness. Let us support maximum girls and women in the society.
