Muhammad's Entrepreneurship Journey

By SGDD-ASAM | Project Leader

Muhammad's Entrepreneurship Journey

Muhammed is the eldest son of a family who came to Turkiye at the age of 16. Unable to attend school to support his family Muhammed started working in a garment workshop. He was despondent about abandoning his education, but he also took on the responsibility of caring for his family.

After a while, he decided to complete his education as a Turkish citizen and do his military service. When he returned from military service, his dreams grew bigger and he began to strive to improve himself. During this process, he heard about an employment project organized by the Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization(ASAM) and enrolled in this course. He received both sewing and operator training within the scope of the course and completed it successfully. With the guidance of the course, he started working in a company and realized that he further developed his experience here. He started to think that he could now create his own brand.

Stating that one of the strongest aspects of the course was “social cohesion”, Muhammed also added that although he was a shy and quiet person, he socialized and happily went to the course every day.

“Don't give up on your dreams”

Muhammed went on a search to open a garment workshop. He started to manage the workshop he found with the social cohesion and gender-oriented approach he learned in the course. Muhammed says “Don't give up on your dreams. The more you follow your dreams, the more life will reward you,”.

He is currently producing textiles in the garment company she founded with 8 employees. His biggest dream is to become a worldwide brand.
