Dear Supporter,
Abegael, 14 years old, is the new Pedal Power for Kenyan Education student ambassador. She is currently in 8th grade at Kachoroi Primary School in Mwangaza village, Nambale, and has been selected to use one of the new Buffalo Bicycles. To further support her education, costs for her uniform, exam levies and school lunches will be covered by our organization.
On July 9, 80 Buffalo Bicycles were distributed to schools and 7 to Grow Against Poverty volunteers to make a total of 885 since the Pedal Power for Kenyan Education program began 7 years ago. The Busia County Commissioner, Education Director, World Bicycle Relief representative, students, parents and school staff attended the presentation ceremony. As the academic improvements related to this program are well documented, there are many schools in the county requesting Buffalo Bicycles. We hope to fulfill their requests by funding 150 bicycles a year.
Your continued support of this program is needed and appreciated.
Regards,
John Roccanova
