At the beginning of this year, we saw an increase in the amount of referrals to our hospice and palliative care program in Janakpur, Nepal. This is due to the hospice and palliative care summit that we organized in November of 2017, which was attended by 50 local physicians. By increasing awareness of the program, we are able to help more patients in the area, and increase the number of physicians who may be interested in becoming a hospice and palliative care provider.
The Binaytara Foundation hospice and palliative care program in Janakpur, Nepal is offered free of cost to terminally ill patients. Though one of the main focuses of the Binaytara Foundation is cancer care, our hospice and palliative care programs are open to anyone with a terminal illness, not just cancer. Thanks to your donations and support, 18 patients and families have been served by our program in Janakpur and the surrounding area. With your continued support, we will be able to spread these services throughout Nepal.
